The lifesaving work of the Troup County - Valley Chapter is possible because of you. Thank you.
Trained volunteers are ready, willing and able to help families and individuals who have suffered loss from a disaster – a home fire, flash flood, microburst, wildfire or other event that may affect one person or thousands. These volunteers respond any time of the day or night, to assess needs and provide immediate emergency assistance, which may include food, shelter and clothing, as well as emotional support, assistance in the replacement of health-related items, and case management.
In the period July 1, 2009 and February 26, 2010, your Red Cross chapter:
Responded to 44 local disasters
Assisted 152 people
Provided over $13,400 in direct financial assistance
The American Red Cross was born on the battlefield as Clara Barton worked to help Civil War soldiers. The Red Cross continues that unique bond with our Armed Forces by providing round-the-clock emergency assistance and communications between military members and their families.
During Fiscal Year 2008-2009, your Red Cross chapter provided
Preparedness & Safety Solutions:
Health and Safety Training
and Education
Every day, people in our community are helped because someone was trained in American Red Cross lifesaving skills. This training ranges from CPR/First Aid certification, including classes in Spanish, to Babysitter training for youth. Additionally, we train the majority of lifeguards and water instructors in our 10-county chapter.
